Medical Conference in Louisville

Over Steve's spring break he had the opportunity to go to Louisville to attend a medical conference. I decided to tag along. Steve spent most of the day in lectures while I sat around the hotel getting ahead in school and becoming addicted to the Food Network.

Getting to Louisville
The first night we were there we went back to Smokey Bones. Here is a tree in the parking lot. Spring out here is so gorgeous!
One evening we went to Old Louisville. It is one of the first neighborhoods built in Louisville. We walked around the neighborhood for awhile. It was so beautiful!
I would love to live here.
 Cool blossoms
 Magnolia trees, Steve's favorite!
Steve picked a flower for me. What a sweetie.
We crossed the bridge over to Indiana to go to the mall and buy Steve some early birthday presents. This picture is on the way back to Louisville.
Expedia ruined out room reservation and gave us two queens (a very common problem apparently). I went to ask the manager if he could put us in a King, but they were sold out. He joked that we could push the beds together... so we did! Problem solved.
Our last day there we went to Churchill Downs. It was amazing. Steve loves horse racing had fun teaching me all about it.
My camera is terrible... every time a stranger takes a picture of us it is blurry. I just need to graduate so Steve will by me a nice new camera like he promised. :)
My favorite part was the fashion. I would love to go to a race and get all dresses up like Kate Middleton!
 My favorite
 Jockey uniforms

 Steve playing the racing game
Steve and I played a trivia game. I won!
These are the saddling stables where the horses get ready before the race.
 Jockey weigh in scale.
 The track
Where they crown the winner with the roses.
 Touching the track
 Finish line!
 Beautiful spring day
 Famous steeples
 Little Sebastian??
A retired race horse. Such a beautiful animal.
The miniature horse is there to keep the horse company
A fun day at Churchill Downs
We had such a great time. We really love Louisville. We would both love to live here. My fingers are crossed that a rotation will open up in Louisville, doubtful, but a girl can dream.
